Genesis Pediatric Therapy Now Enrolling for Yoga Class for Children with ASD

Looking for some way to keep your kid active AND warm this winter? The Iowa City Autism Community has worked with the awesome therapists at Genesis Pediatric Therapy to create a yoga class designed specifically for children on the autism spectrum! Please call Genesis to sign up – cost is only $10.00! Space is limited to only eight participants so this will fill up quickly. ICAC Winter 2017-2018 Activities Announced!

Throughout the year, The Iowa City Autism Community organizes several activities for individuals on the spectrum and their families. CAPSTO is pleased to have Mary Roberts, Autism Center Coordinator at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, speak about Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waivers and Regional funding. Mary will be speaking at the Transition Services Center before the Dec. CAPSTO meeting. TSC families and parents/guardians of high school students are encouraged to attend the talk and invited to stay for the CAPSTO Meeting.

CAPSTO stands for Community, Agencies, Parent, Student, Teacher Organization and is formed of individuals working to support the ICCSD Transitions Program for special education students with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or other barriers to living and working independently in our community.
