Because the pilot class was such a success, the Iowa GymNest has now scheduled this unique gymnastics course as a regular class offering. The Iowa City Autism Community designed and provided the visual supports and helped tailor the class to be as autism-friendly as possible thanks to a generous grant from the Autism Society of Iowa. We appreciate everyone’s feedback! Flyer for the next session is below –
Monthly Archives: June 2018
Bowling Fun at Colonial Lanes!
Thank you to Colonial Lanes for hosting us! They always give us reduced rates for bowling, free shoe rental, turn off the music and make the alley closed to the general public. Hope everyone had a great time!
Thank You to Sand Hill Orchards!
Thank you to Mary Gronen-Hintermeister for welcoming us the day before opening day to Sand Road Orchards! We had a blast picking blueberries under blue skies. We will plan to return in the Fall for apples!
ICAC At Pride 2018
Thanks to everyone who volunteered for 2018 Pride and to everyone who stopped by to say hello! It was hot outside, but we still met and talked to so many amazing people.
Part of The Iowa City Autism Community’s mission is to foster not just acceptance and inclusion, but to let those who are on the autism spectrum know they are loved, they are welcome and that they should be proud of who they are! Neurodiversity should be celebrated.
