We’re very excited to support UAY as they start up a monthly hangout at their Youth Center for neurodivergent teens! The Iowa City Autism Community provided consultation on how to create a sensory-friendly space and donated two weighted throw blankets and noise dampening head phones. More information about this amazing opportunity for neurodivergent teens coming soon!
A big thank you to Miracles in Motion for having us at their annual BOO at the Barn event! Kayla McKee did an amazing job staffing the table and overseeing activities. We’re lucky to have her on board!

Thank you to everyone who attended the all ages Halloween Spooktacular party at the Iowa City Public Library! Everyone painted pumpkins, listened to a fall storytime, took part in a Halloween dance party and took home a special treat bag courtesy of The Iowa City Autism Community. As usual, the entire library was open for general browsing and closed to the general public in order to maintain a neutral and quiet environment. These events would not be possible without the support and creativity of the amazing librarians at ICPL and we couldn’t appreciate them more!
There will be another special access browsing hour at The North Liberty Library on November 22nd from 5:30pm-6:30pm. Join us!
