The team will review key “SMART” comm unication partner strategies and help families gain skills to increase the ir own interactions with their child while incorporating the use of the ch ild’s AAC system.

Chinese dragons traditionally symbolize strong and lucky pow ers\, particularly control over water\, rainfall\, typhoons\, and floods. The dragon is also a symbol of power\, strength\, and good luck for people who are worthy of it. year’s Summer Reading Program theme is “A Universe of Stories.” One way w
e can discover new stories around the world (and beyond) is to encourage c

s learn and understand something new about different world cultures.
One of the lasting artistic legacies from the ancient Greeks is the art of the mosaic. A mosaic is a picture made up of small pieces of glass\, p ottery\, or small tiles. Thousands of small pieces of colored tiles are pl aced together so that all together they make up a picture. Often depicting pagan gods\, people and animals\, the Ancient Greeks were the first to us e what is known today as tesserae or the many small pieces of marble\, gla ss\, or tile that comprise a mosaic artwork. This Wednesday everyone will have the chance to create their own mosaics in the style of Greek mosaic t radition!

The University Lectu re Committee has teamed up with UI Students for Disability Advocacy & Awar eness to bring How to ADHD YouTuber Jessica McCabe to T he Englert Theatre on October 8th!
\nJessica’s ADHD-focused YouT ube channel has taken off in recent years\, with over 300\,000 subscribers and hundreds of videos discussing the ADHD experience. Her 2017 TED Talk “Failing at Normal: An ADHD Success Story” has nearly 1.2 million views\, and she has given talks about ADHD across the world — including as the key note speaker for the 2018 International Conference on ADHD.
\nThe CD C estimates that approximately 11% of Americans\, both adults and children \, will receive a diagnosis of ADHD in their lifetime. These 1 out of 10 a re our friends\, our neighbors\, our co-workers\, our children\, our spous es\, our clients\, our patients\, our students — and yet few people truly know what it means to experience life as an ADHDer.
